**About the role**
We have a rewarding opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our new, purpose-built facility dedicated to supporting women experiencing homelessness. Located in Maddington, this facility provides a safe and supportive environment for women to regain their independence and rebuild their lives.
As our Kitchen Assistant, you’ll play an important role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly and ensuring the women have a calm and welcoming dining experience. Working closely with the Cook and wider team, you’ll help prepare and serve meals, maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, and contribute to a sense of comfort and stability for women who are navigating significant life changes. Your care, reliability, and attention to detail will help make Catherine House feel like home.
**About you**
You bring a warm, compassionate, and practical approach to everything you do. With a genuine commitment to supporting women during vulnerable and transitional times, you understand the importance of dignity, respect, and consistency in care. You thrive in a team environment that values empathy, inclusiveness, and community.
You also bring:
- Experience in hostel/hotel catering environments
- A friendly, respectful approach when working with vulnerable people
- Strong time management skills and great attention to detail
- A commitment to safe and hygienic food handling
- Clear, compassionate communication skills and a team-focused mindset
- Available to work between 1pm-7pm (including weekends)
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
