Job Summary
Sportscape Constructions is looking for 2nd, 3rd and 4th year landscaping apprentices to join our team.
This is a great opportunity to gain your qualification in Landscape Construction and learn on the job with one of Melbourne’s leading landscaping companies. Through your apprenticeship you will learn all aspects of landscaping whilst playing a hands-on role in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Role Description
Key Responsibilities
Day to Day:
- Landscape and general labouring duties.
- Assist with soft landscaping enhancement including planting, spreading soil, mulch or gravel, turf laying, topsoil spreading, and lawn seeding as required.
- Assist with hard landscaping projects including paving, retaining walls, drainage, irrigation, etc.
- Assist with hard landscaping timberworks including fencing, and decking. Operating and working around a variety of mechanical equipment including but not limited to trailers, chainsaws, laser levels, grinders, and any other power tools required onsite.
Materials Handling:
- Load and unload construction materials Tools, and equipment.
- Distribute materials to the appropriate locations on the job site. Operate heavy machinery and equipment as required.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety guidelines. Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
Teamwork:
- Collaborate with fellow workers, including skilled trades and project managers.
- Communicate effectively to coordinate tasks and ensure project goals are met.
- Support team members to achieve project deadlines and quality standards.

- Successful completion of the first year of their apprenticeship.
- Construction Industry White Card
- WWCC Required
- Current drivers licence
- Punctual
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
- Willingness to follow instructions and learn from experienced workers.
- Team player with good communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Safety training and certifications are advantageous but not required.
