Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre have a vacancy for a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Aircraft Surface Finisher Apprentice with our host company based in the Moorabbin area.

Our host company designs, manufactures, and supplies complex equipment globally for aerospace, defence, rail, automotive, mining, and energy industries and provide support to many local and international customers. With almost 100 years of experience our host company provides a spectacular and safe workshop for you to learn and grow alongside many experienced members.

Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is a Group Training Organisation who employs apprentices and trainees then places them with Host Organisations. We provide support for all apprentices and trainees by way of our mentoring program which includes regular visits to your workplace and TAFE.

Your duties include:

- Interpret and use aviation maintenance industry manuals and specifications
- Conduct self in the aviation maintenance environment
- Plan and organise aviation maintenance work activities
- Complete aviation maintenance industry documentation
- Perform basic hand skills, standard trade practices and fundamentals in aviation maintenance
- Participate in environmentally sustainable work practices
- Prepare spray painting materials and equipment
- Remove surface coatings from aircraft or aircraft components
- Pre-treat aluminium alloy surfaces
- Seal aircraft and aircraft component structural seams
- Remove light corrosion from aircraft
- Paint aircraft surfaces

Mandatory Requirements:

- Must be an Australian Citizen or hold the right to work in Australia
