As a Relay Technician, you’ll be responsible for repairing, adjusting, and performing tests on all types of signalling relays and associated electronic components.
You’ll need to be self-motivated and driven in order to perform in-depth fault finding of a high calibre, investigating signalling circuits, rectifying of faults in signalling installations, and the maintenance and certification of installed signal relays.
You’ll need to create reports on relays removed from service due to failure or incident, ensuring good written and verbal communication is adhered to, executing a plan for works to be completed daily.
In this position you’ll be working day shifts on a Monday to Friday basis. It will also require you to perform regular overtime on weekends, performing acceptance testing for project works.
**Responsibilities include**:
- The maintenance and provision of specialist testing facilities required for checking the correct operation of all types of fail-safe relays and other items of signalling equipment.-
- Carry out and perform testing and calibration of railway signalling both under general guidance and with limited supervision.-
- Actively participate in staff toolboxes, safety talks and meetings.Seek out and implement innovate ways to improve safety.-
- Assist Technical Officers/Engineers in the commissioning of railway signalling equipment as required.-
- To be the Work Group Supervisor/Track Force Protection Coordinator ensuring hazards are identified and safe working protection is in place.**About you**:
- Diploma in Railway Signalling - mandatory.-
- Track Force Protection Coordinator 3.1 - ideal.-
- Qualified First Aid and CPR Certificate.-
- Extensive knowledge/skills necessary to carry out a diverse range of technical duties within the Signals Maintenance group.-
- Sound experience of train operating rules and procedures relating to signalling.**Ready to apply? Great**
