We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Psychology.

**About the role**:
The Lecturer, Education-focused Academic will lead unit teaching teams in PG counselling programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes. The position will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality, scholarship and creative activities to enhance student experience and teaching learning outcomes in their discipline area.

This position is suited to a person with an emerging record and passion for learning and teaching, a keen interest in contributing to community engagement for teaching and employability.

**As a Lecturer in Counselling, Education-focused, you will**:

- Lead and collaborate on teaching teams to develop inclusive and innovative curricula, resources, and assessments, while providing academic support to students.
- Integrate industry, clinical, and research practices into teaching, fostering learner engagement and success.
- Contribute to teaching scholarship and pedagogical research to improve student and graduate outcomes, and engage in professional development programs.
- Promote a culture of educational excellence by supporting junior colleagues, building pedagogical capabilities, and refining teaching practices.
- Participate in university citizenship and community engagement activities, contributing to strategic initiatives and professional innovation.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- PhD in a relevant discipline and/or a Masters in Counselling and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs in the area of counselling, including innovative curriculum design
- Demonstrated passion and ability to deliver effective teaching and supervision practices to improve student success and engagement
- Emerging record of scholarly learning and teaching in postgraduate or undergraduate programs
- Ability to contribute to communities through research
- Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and/or administration.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
- Eligible for ACA and/or PACFA registration
- Registered psychologist (AHPRA) and/or counsellor (ACA/PACFA).
