We are currently looking for a Sentence Planner to join our team.
**About the role**:
The Sentence Planning team is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of all the processes, policy and procedures to achieve the appropriate, efficient and effective placement of inmates state-wide. They must ensure that all inmates receive a classification rating and placement decision in line with policy and within a specified timeframe.
**Role responsibilities**:
The Sentence Planner plays an integral role in the operation of the Classification & Placement Department by assisting the team in the overall organisation and operation of the department
- Conducts classifications of both sentenced and remand inmates in accordance with policies and procedures of governing bodies/entities
- The Sentence Planner ensures all sentenced inmates have an initial classification and placement recommendation completed in line with the contractual agreement. Following and maintaining operations in line with the recommendation as per the CSNSW classification guide. Providing administrative duties to ensure documenting/statistics and reporting obligations are met and any set KPI’s are adhered to within the set time frames.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and prioritise work.
- Good oral and written communication skills and experience in drafting correspondence
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision and as part of a team
- A good understanding of confidentiality
- Extensive experience and ability to use computer skills including OIMS database and Microsoft Word
- Proven ability to accurately maintain and develop computerized and hard copy filing systems
**To be successful in this role, you will need**
- To pass a in clinic fitness/Medical assessment and Australian federal Police checks
- Obtain and maintain state clearances
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Permanent resident.
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19
- Ability to manage difficult situations
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Show initiative and be motivated to succeed
- Excellent time management skills
- Great team worker
