**About the Role**
The Gift Compliance Lead is part of the Risk and Compliance team within the Legal and Risk portfolio. The role delivers strategic and operational advice on governance, control, and risk management strategies to improve the management and compliance obligations with trust and gift terms.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advice, education, and training on trust and gift management.
- Ongoing reviews of trust and gift compliance.
- Administration to support the University in meeting its trustee obligations.
- Coordination and oversight of the trust and gift compliance framework and coordinating the annual trust and gift compliance reporting process and compliance report to University Council.
**Who are we looking for?**
Are you an experienced leader in trust and gift management with a proven track record in advising and auditing trusts?
Your ability to work independently, along with your self-motivation, initiative, and creative thinking, will be essential in this role. Strong organisational skills and effective prioritisation will help you meet deadlines, manage competing demands, and coordinate various projects and events. Additionally, your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the university.
You will also have:
- Postgraduate qualifications in business, accounting, and/or law or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
- Proficient in charitable trust and trust/gift administration within the University setting, including interpreting trust and gift instruments, offering compliance advice, and ensuring adherence to trust and gift terms.
- Exhibit exceptional presentation and written communication abilities, effectively conveying intricate financial information to non-financial audiences, as well as producing reports for senior management and committees.
- Experience in interpreting, applying, and explaining policies, guidelines, and complex rules.
- Sound analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, and demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, showing adaptability and flexibility.
