**Position Information**:
Hamilton Public School is an important hub in the local community. Hamilton Public School has a FOIE of 43 with an enrolment of 298 students including 7% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and 14% of students have a language background other than English. Current priorities are a focus on student agency, evidence-based instructional practices and collective teacher efficacy The school is a proud member of the Muloobinbah Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and maintains a strong focus on the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander histories and cultures.
Hamilton Public School supports the development of the whole child and offers many extra-curricular activities with a focus on high potential and gifted education, STEM and sustainability practices. The implementation of the Grow Your Mind, and the Martial Arts Therapy programs across the school ensures a strong foundation for the wellbeing of all students. We are actively involved in educational programs offered by other educational institutions including; the University of Newcastle, the University of NSW, Sydney University (the STEM Academy) and the Centre of Excellence, Richmond Agricultural College (Sustainability projects).
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated capacity to work successfully with the leadership team, balancing exemplary teaching with the demands and the complexities of a leadership role.
- Evidence of outstanding collaborative skills to work as part of a leadership team, synthesising data, to support the implementation of the school's strategic directions.
- Visible leadership demonstrating a capacity to model and lead high level, research informed pedagogy that inspires excellence across a team.
- Ability to enhance positive partnerships within and beyond the school community that serve to build student wellbeing and engagement.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
