About us
Baptist Care Australia works to bring social justice to Australian communities, advocating nationally on social issues such as homelessness, aged care and domestic violence. We represent Baptist community service organisations and their clients in the national policy debate.
A core principle in our work is to make sure that the interests and voices of marginalised people are heard when decisions are made that affect them. We hold a vision of a nation of hope-filled, purposeful people, building communities where every voice is heard. Our advocacy work seeks to help realize this aspiration.
Baptist Care Australia also serves its members by coordinating national collaboration to help them increase productivity and efficiency and deliver projects that provide benefits across the national network.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO, the Policy and Advocacy Advisor leads a core portfolio in our small dynamic team and plays a crucial role in ensuring our positions are considered in the policy making process. Working within our areas of strategic priority - especially aged care and community housing - the position can operate with significant levels of autonomy to shape the organisation’s advocacy strategy and execution.
