** About the role**
- The Interpreter plays a vital role within the Allied Health team at Eastern Health, providing essential interpreting services for staff, patients, and their families. This position involves managing interpreter bookings efficiently and professionally, ensuring that Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) patients fully understand their healthcare information. The Interpreter also educates and collaborates with hospital staff to enhance their use of interpreting services and helps coordinate both internal and external interpreter bookings. Maintaining accurate records of service occasions and reporting these to the Director of Language Services is a key responsibility. Additionally, the Interpreter engages in regular reviews of service provision and development through supervision and the Achieve Framework, working closely with the Director of Language Services at Box Hill Hospital.

** About you**
- To be successful in this role you will possess:

- _NAATI Certified Interpreter certification_
- _Tertiary qualifications_
- _Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese_
- _Experience working as an interpreter in a healthcare environment_
- _Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills_
- _Ability to organise and prioritise work_
- _Ability to work as a team and with mínimal supervision_
- _Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment_
- _Current drivers' licence_-
- **Desirable**- _Computer skills - Microsoft 365_
- Experience using the Healthdirect telehealth/video call platform- _Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the _Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice)_. Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment._- ** What we offer**
