**About the role**

**Key Responsibilities**

Maintenance Administration

Database Administration
- Database administration functions such as backups, restore, trouble shooting, configuration

Release Management
- Manage Fujitsu development and test environments
- Produce release packages to customer

Administrator SME advice
- Respond to vendor bulletins to assess impact on deployed solutions

General
- Ensure documentation is kept up to date
- Maintain currency of knowledge relating to technologies of relevance to the solution

**About you**:

- Substantial previous experience in a similar role essential, e.g. DBA for other RDBMS
- Progress 4GL
- Progress RDBMS
- MS SQL Server
- MS Windows Server
- Sun Solaris, or Unix equivalent
- Systems administration
- ** Must have current or reinstatable AGSVA Security Clearance**:

- Note: if no Progress knowledge, willingness to learn DBA via online training
- Qualifications Tertiary ICT qualification or related discipline

Desired Experience & Knowledge / Other Relevant Information:

- Technical Progress ABL Programming language, and Dynamics (preferred but not essential), Windows and Unix functions.
- Ability to speak and write fluently in English.
- Works well without needing excessive supervision where normal daily routine applies.
- Show confidence in decision making and ability to get on with things independently.
- Ability to think ahead, plan, prioritise and flag early with management if targets cannot be met.
