We are looking for compassionate and caring individuals to join our professional team of support workers in the Bayside & Peninsula area on a Casual basis.

Simply Helping aims to support Service Users to remain living independently within their community.

Your role will require you to report directly to the Manager or to a designated Supervisor based in Simply Helping. This position will be supported by the Manager or the designated Supervisor for supervision and direction in regard to a practice-based approach and decisions.

**Position Skills and Knowledge**

¨ Capacity to work effectively both as a sole worker and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and adapt quickly to a changing environment.

¨ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including empathy and the ability to initiate and maintain strong contacts with families and Service Users and represent the organisation in a positive and professional manner.

¨ Decisions should reflect practice covered by both Simply Helping and our processes, procedures and policies.

¨ The person will demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the issues faced by our aged population and people living with a disability and its impact on individuals and possess a positive and contemporary attitude to those people.

¨ A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for Service Users, and for Simply Helping, utilising planned results to ensure and measure customer-focus and satisfaction.

**Key Selection Criteria Qualifications**

¨ A minimum of a Certificate III in working with Aged Care and/or Disability support and/or previous experience working as a Personal Care Assistant.

¨ A current Australian driver’s license.

¨ A current First Aid Certificate.

¨ A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC - E) or Blue Card.

¨ A valid National Police Check, or a current valid International Police Check and working visa. If unable to receive an International Police Check, completing a Statutory Declaration will suffice.

¨ A current NDIS Workers Screening Check with Simply Helping added as a notified organisation for the duration of employment.

**Skills & Personal Attributes**

The position requires professional knowledge in the following areas:
¨ Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013, through completing the NDIS Workers Orientation Module.

¨ Strong experience working in the community, Aged Care and/or the Disability sector.

¨ Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

¨ Ability to work without direct supervision.

¨ Comfortable with a high level of accountability.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Subcontract

**Salary**: $32.00 - $34.44 per hour
