**Why Your Role Matters**:
In this position you will contribute to the development and delivery of courses in the areas of either Sustainable Design Theory and Practice, Object Design for Circular Economy, and/or interdisciplinary practice.
As Lecturer, you will contribute to advance the School’s profile by scholarly research, creative practice and/or publishing and by teaching and developing a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at UNSW Art and Design.
This Lecturer role reports to the Head of School.
**Accountabilities**
As a Level B Academic you will make contributions to the teaching effort of the institution and to carry out activities to develop their scholarly, research and or professional skills relevant to their area of expertise.
Specific accountabilities for this role include (but are not limited to):
- The conduct of tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions.
- Initiation and development of course material.
- Acting as a coordinator of various aspects of the discipline or related activities within the School.
- The preparation and delivery of lectures or seminars.
- Supervision of the program of study of honours students or of postgraduate students engaged in course work.
- Supervision of major honours or postgraduate research projects.
**About you**
Skills and Experience
- PhD or equivalent tertiary degree and/or experience in the areas of either Sustainable Design History and Theory, Object Design for Circular Economy, or interdisciplinary practice
- A strong record of academic achievement, and the ability to attract competitive research funding.
- Demonstrated capacity to bring new experimental and conceptual approaches to research and teaching in your indicated area of interest.
- A commitment to teaching, including face to face, online and blended modes.
- A demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively in a teaching and research environment.
- The ability to collaborate with other disciplines in the Faculty and across other Faculties.
