Cloud Platform Engineering Manager

Swinburne University is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineering Manager to lead the management and evolution of our platforms. Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Infrastructure, this senior leadership role will be responsible for continuing shaping and executing the university’s cloud strategy to support corporate, research, teaching, and learning functions. You will play a key role in building and managing a high-performing team of Cloud, Platform, and DevOps Engineers while working closely with the Cloud Architect to drive innovation, address technical debt, and develop long-term cloud platform roadmaps.

As the Cloud Platform Engineering Manager, you will oversee the delivery of a robust, secure, and cost-efficient cloud platform, forming the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) and implementing FinOps practices to optimize cloud spending. This role requires strong technical leadership, management, and communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, resolve challenges, and drive transformation. **About You**
To be suitable for this role you will need to:

- Demonstrable leadership experience with a track record for developing a highly motivated and enthusiastic platforms team.
- Have an experimental and exploratory mind set, being bold in rapidly proof of concepting emerging technologies in the platform’s domain
- Experience chairing technical forums and driving modern ways of working.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in cloud and platform engineering or architecture, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role
