**Background**
Power Research and Development is developing innovative clean power technology and projects. Our key projects include design, building and operation of distributed pumped hydropower systems that provide renewable energy storage.

Our groundbreaking project in Walpole is now under construction, supported by the WA Government’s Clean Energy Future Fund. For this project, Western Power is partnering with us to develop the pumped hydro facility and connect it to the SWIS network.

We are now designing our next round of projects in other towns across WA, and looking to expand our team with people that are passionate about clean energy.

**The Role**
For current projects the role involves programming, installing and commissioning SEL
Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) based local and remote controls for clean
energy hydropower projects with a focus on pumping and electrical systems.

The role is suited to an electrician or technician with a technical focus who is ambitious, natural problem solver and prepared to take responsibility.

**Position Duties**:

- Implementing control systems including developing schedules, diagrams, and

collaborating on control philosophy and functional descriptions (with guidance, if
needed)
- Researching and procurement of control and other equipment
- Programming of RTAC and control devices, following best practices
- Commissioning of control systems and supervision of commissioning support

personnel
- Project planning and scheduling, work diligently to critical project timelines

**Required Skills**:

- Trade qualification with practical experience in a related field (2-8 years

preferred)
- Clear, direct communication style
- A logical, structured approach
- Ability to learn quickly on the job
- A high level of general computer proficiency

We are a small and motivated team, guidance is provided, but supervision will be mínimal and it is of utmost importance to work independently, communicate freely, be proactive and a self-starter.

We have an enjoyable work environment with a casual office space. There may be a
need to travel or work away from home from time to time.

**Salary**: $63,806.63 - $116,915.38 per year
