The Generalist Teacher role at Yalingbu Yirramboi
- The Royal Children¿s Hospital School (YYRCHS) offers an opportunity to deliver best-practice teaching and learning tailored to the needs of students connected with the Royal Children¿s Hospital (RCH).
We are seeking a fully qualified Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) educator to join our dynamic and passionate team.
This position will support students across the early years, primary and secondary cohorts. While specialisation in all areas is not required, relevant experience is preferred.
**The role of the teacher includes, but is not limited to**:
- Design and deliver engaging, individualised, and group learning experiences for early years, primary, and secondary students with chronic health conditions, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development;
- Adapt your teaching to meet the varied and differing needs of students in a hospital environment;
- Develop Individual Education Plan¿s (IEPs), that include goals across all learning areas;
- Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school;
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic and inclusive approach to education;
- Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;

**Responsibilities**:
Range 2 classroom teachers play a significant role in assisting the school to improve student performance and educational outcomes determined by the school strategic plan and state-wide priorities and contributing to the development and implementation of school policies and priorities. A critical component of this work will focus on increasing the knowledge base of staff within their school about student learning and high-quality instruction to assist their school to define quality teacher practice.
**Range 2 classroom teachers will be expected to**:
- Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students;
- Provide a child safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards;
- Model exemplary classroom practice and mentor/coach other teachers in the school to engage in critical reflection of their practice and to support staff to expand their capacity;
- Provide expert advice about the content, processes and strategies that will shape individual and school professional learning;
- Supervise and train one or more pre-service teachers;
- Assist staff to use student data to inform teaching approaches that enable targets related to improving student learning outcomes to be achieved.
