Distribution Centre Manager

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, we are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Distribution Centre Manager to manage all aspects of the DC Operations by leading a team to deliver the businesses DIFOT (Delivery in Full on Time) requirements for Retail stores. This individual will also identify and drive operating efficiencies and Distribution Centre excellence.

**THIS ROLE WILL SEE YOU**:

- Support HR with the recruitment of Full Time and Casual team members;
- Foster and lead an operating culture of safety and wellbeing first;
- Strong understanding of safe work practices to continually improve safety performance;
- Full ownership of the DC operations P & L;
- Multi-Site Management;
- Effectively lead, manage and develop a team to deliver on DC requirements;
- Managing the weekly labor resource plan;
- Own and execute the KPI reporting process for the entire DC operations;
- Assume total responsibility for mis pick and errors ensuring this is consistently monitored and improved;
- Implement, maintain, and review receiving, put away, picking, packing and shipping SOPs;
- Manage the weekly inventory cycle counts and stock takes;
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
- Liaise with Category Managers, Buyers, Inventory analysts to manage DC inventory;
- Act as the escalation point for any DC operational issues;
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the Supply Chain Manager.

**YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL BE**:

- Full ownership of the DC operations and costs;
- Develop strong working relationships with Support Office team to ensure alignment of business goals are achieved;
- Identify and execute continuous improvement within the DC to improve service and reduce cost;
- Ensure all orders are received, picked, packed and shipped in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Proactively lead a safety culture that includes site compliance to all legislative and company safety requirements;
- Record all incidents, including hazards, near misses and injuries;
- Monthly DC Safety reporting;
- Lead and manage the DC team, ensuring strong communication of roles, responsibilities, and facilitating career development;
- Manage the relationships with transport service providers and Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) providers;
- Coordinate with category managers, buyers in relation to sales promotions, new products or any major projects that affect DC operations;
- Maintaining inventory accuracy and work closely with compliance on all inventory matters;
- Review and implement changes to better optimise DC space and labor productivity;
- Develop weekly reporting that includes DC activities and costs for the Supply Chain Management team;
- Raise and resolve any unexpected issues that may cause delays with any orders in a timely manner;
- Project lead for any DC initiatives.

- Minimal 5 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Proven success in a DC Manager’s role;
- Exceptional leadership skills to inspire and motivate;
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and strive to continually improve safety performance;
- Exceptional attention to detail with a genuine ability to follow processes and procedures;
- Ability to build and maintain relationships, with internal and external stakeholders;
- Retail experience highly regarded;
- Experience with ERP systems;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work autonomously while communicating and liaising closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Support Office.
