**Our Opportunity**

**The Role**

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure the timely, efficient and safe operation of the Fitting Department.
- Oversee workshop Fitters/Mechanical staff on a day-to-day basis. This includes completing necessary quality checks and ensuring correct use of machinery.
- Take responsibility for mentoring apprentices, upskilling tradespeople and managing the performance of the mechanical team.
- Reporting of plant faults/breakdowns and advising on suitable solutions.
- Provide expert advice when overseeing Assembly, testing and fault finding of equipment.
- Coordinate and schedule work plans in conjunction with workshop supervisor.
- Ensure workshop and storage area housekeeping is of a high standard and free of hazards.
- Ensuring at all times work is being completed in a safe manner, using appropriate Safe Work Instructions or Safety Operating Procedures and complies with relevant WHS Policies.

**The Ideal Person**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Relevant Mechanical trade certificate or equivalent certifications.
- Previous experience working with hydraulics is essential. Additional experience with Longwall equipment is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to partner with stakeholders at all levels.
- Current Forklift license.
