**About the role**:
- The Principal Investigator leads a specialist team of senior investigation officers and manages the effective delivery of investigations and reviews of complex complaints about safety and quality issues in mental health services, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, processes and standards.
- The Principal Investigator reports to the General Counsel, Legal Services and works closely with the Assistant Commissioner, Complaints and Resolutions Team.
**About us**:
The Mental Health Wellbeing Commission (MHWC) is an accountability body in the mental health and wellbeing system established under the new Act and recommended by the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. The new MHWC includes Commissioners with lived experience of mental illness or psychological distress and lived experience as a family member, carer, or supporter.

**How you'll make a difference**:
- Someone with experience in leading and conducting complex and sensitive investigations that safeguard people's rights and promote improved outcomes for people and broader service improvements.
- A confident and persuasive communicator who can build effective relationships with stakeholders when dealing with sensitive and complex matters.
- Positive and passionate about making a difference, with demonstrated skill in working in ways that are driven by the lived experiences of consumers, families and carers.
- Someone with demonstrated high level interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills.
