Maintenance Handyperson

Elements of Byron is an award-winning Beach front resort, nestled on 50 acres of absolute beach front paradise in Byron Bay in the Northern Rivers of NSW.* We have a full time, 3 days a week (Thu, Fri, Sat) opportunity available for a Handyperson to join our team*. This varied role requires you to maintain the resort building, equipment, fixtures and fittings to the required standard, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees. This role would suit someone with a mixed experience of skills and the ability to problem solve, we are not looking for a qualified tradie for this role.
**This role is 3 set days a week (Thu, Fri, Sat)**
Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step in securing this role. You must have a good technical knowledge, with the ability to problem solve effectively and self mange your workload.

You will be responsible for undertaking general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance programs throughout the resort in a manner that does not disturb our guests.
**This includes**:

- Basic plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, pool and spa maintenance
- Servicing of plant and general equipment as directed
- Acting fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g. power outages)
- Assisting other team members in the completion of their duties
- Assist with inventory of equipment, tools, spare parts and hardware supplies
- Ensuring all painted areas are maintained and in good order

Requirements*
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems with the Hotel industry is a plus
- This role requires you to work rostered shifts which may include early morning starts, late night finishes and weekend work
- Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Trade qualification highly regarded
- Current and valid drivers licence
- Strong work ethic
- Actively demonstrate pride in your work
- Excellent customer service skills both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to resolve issues
- The ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment
