**ABOUT THE BRANCH**
The Property Frameworks and Services Branch, is responsible for management and stewardship of key whole of government property policy, frameworks and legislation, including the Commonwealth Property Management Framework,_ Lands Acquisition Act 1989, Public Works Committee Act 1969 _and Commonwealth Property Disposal Policy.
The Branch develops strategic property policy options to ensure the property policy framework can respond and support the Australian Public Service to achieve broader outcomes, while demonstrating proper use of resources. It is also responsible for the implementation and contract management for the Whole of Australian Government property services coordinated procurement arrangements.
**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**
The role involves:
- Providing advice on proposed acquisitions of interests in land by entities that consider broader government activities and objectives, and ensure appropriate legal and other due diligence is undertaken to minimise post-acquisition risks to the Commonwealth
- Managing post-acquisition claims for compensation for compulsory acquisitions
- Managing the Public Works Committee Act, including the referral of entities’ submissions to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works, and advising entities on the Committee’s requirements
- Preparing briefings to the Minister on a range of land and public works matters
- Procurement of expert advisers (e.g. valuers and legal advisers) as required
- Leading a small team
