The Dietitian (Level 2) will be responsible for providing high-quality nutrition care to patients across a range of clinical specialties in a small hospital setting. The role is working 15 hours per week with flexible days.
This role involves assessing, planning, and delivering nutritional interventions, ensuring patients' nutritional needs are met to support their recovery and discharge planning. The dietitian will work as sole practicing dietitian, as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
This is a part-time role, covering Parental leave for a period of 12 months.
**About the role**:
Conduct detailed nutritional assessments for acute hospital inpatients
Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition care plans for a variety of clinical conditions, including general medical, surgical, oncology, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders.
Provide individualised dietary counselling and education to patients and their families
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress, adjusting nutrition care plans as required
Document and maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with hospital policy
Plan and evaluate quality improvement initiatives
Demonstrated ability to manage, adapt and prioritise individual caseload
**About you**:
Tertiary degree (or equivalent) in Dietetics or Nutrition and be eligible for membership of DAA
Previous clinical hospital experience including management of enteral nutrition
Experience in a variety of clinical areas preferred.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based nutritional interventions, guidelines, and best practices.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
