A rare opportunity at Black Bar and Grill is open for an experienced Sommelier to join the Food & Beverage Team at The Star Sydney. Black Bar and Grill is Star’s Signature Dining venue with a 40+ page Wine list comprised of over 800 wines with some of the world’s most sought-after wines.

You will be a passionate and service driven individual. You will be a senior team member and responsible for driving beverage revenue, managing stock, and the overall wine strategy for the venue in collaboration with the Venue Manager.

**Some of the responsibilities are but are not limited to**:

- Enhancing wine knowledge and service standards through education programs
- Developing and driving upselling, cross-selling programs
- Developing and implementing the property-wide wine strategy that drives cash revenue and delivers margin improvement
- Working proactively with F&B Control and Warehouse teams on wine and beverage stock control and ensuring that there is appropriate product rotation, cellaring of premium products and cash flow ratio to meet the operational needs of the business within set financial parameters

**To be successful you will have**:

- Sommelier or extensive hospitality industry experience/knowledge
- Member of the Australian Sommelier Association (preferable)
- Previous management experience in a premium dining restaurant
- Proven ability in developing positive relationships and driving change
- NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol
