**About the Role**

Reporting to the Team Leader, Councillor Support, the core responsibilities include:

- Provide high level executive support to the Office of the Mayor including word processing, diary maintenance, arranging and scheduling meetings, etc.
- Facilitate an excellent relationship with the Office of the Mayor including regular and consistent meetings.
- Act as liaison on behalf of the Office of the Mayor with other levels of government, MPs, Ministers and other Office Holders to advance the position of the Council.
- Act as initial contact for all enquiries, providing advice, assessing priorities and coordinating requests for the Office of the Mayor.
- Recording and managing all actions to be taken on behalf of the Office of the Mayor and actioning in a timely manner.
- Oversee and manage the diary of the Office of the Mayor ensuring that the diary is current and informative at all times.
- Oversee and manage Councillor Requests generated from the Office of the Mayor ensuring that responses are provided in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures and legislation as it relates to the Office of the Mayor and provide guidance to the Office of the Mayor as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service to an exemplary standard when representing the Office of the Mayor.
- Undertake research and analysis to assist the Office of the Mayor.
- Coordinate, support and attend Civic Events.
- Facilitate, with other members of Council staff, the Mayoral Charity Event.
- Keep the Team Leader and the Office of the Mayor aware of any anticipated problems to be addressed or opportunities to be considered.
- Ensuring excellent communication with the Team Leader Councillor Support to ensure the Team Leader is aware of any potential issues.
- Facilitate regular meetings with the Office of the Mayor to track satisfaction with services rendered.
- Ensure the highest levels of confidentiality, integrity and probity are maintained at all times.
- Undertake duties in compliance with the Councillor Support Operations Manual and in direction from the Team Leader Councillor Support.
- Work closely with the Councillor Support Team to ensure that the Team delivers a high level of excellent service.

**About You**
- Significant experience providing exceptional quality support to a senior executive level or significant experience in providing support to political officers.
- Demonstrated understanding of the local government context, the Local Government Act and the role of Councillors within local government.
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills, including excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a high paced, confidential work environment and to deliver outcomes and achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, discretion and decision making within the regulatory context.
- Excellent ability to develop relationships with the Office of the Mayor, Councillors, Team Leader, staff and external organisations.
- Qualifications in business administration are desirable.
