Experienced Gardener

**Experienced Gardener / Lead Hand (Casual / Ongoing)**
**Location**: Northern & Western Suburbs of Adelaide, SA
**Pay**: $38 per hour (this rate includes the 25% casual loading) — pay commensurate with experience and leadership ability)
**Hours**: 1-4 days per week to start (potential to increase)

**About the Role**

We’re a small, growing gardening and maintenance business servicing Adelaide’s northern and western suburbs.

We provide a range of services, including:

- Lawn mowing and lawn installation
- Garden maintenance and clean-ups
- Tree trimming and pruning
- Hedge trimming
- Soft landscaping and planting
- Gutter cleaning and green waste removal

Most of our work is on residential properties, so you’ll occasionally interact with clients and need to communicate clearly and professionally. You’ll also keep management updated on progress, changes, or any site issues.

We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated **gardener / lead hand** who can:

- Work independently or alongside another team member
- Take initiative on site, manage time effectively, and ensure jobs are completed efficiently
- Perform high-quality hands-on work across all services
- Support less experienced workers when needed (mentoring, guidance, and workflow support)

This is a **hands-on role first**, but we’re looking for someone with **lead hand qualities** — confident, reliable, and able to get the job done while maintaining a smooth workflow.

**What’s Required**

This role is for experienced, capable workers only — not for beginners or those needing full training.
- **Applicants must have**:_
- Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance
- Confident using all standard equipment (mowers, blowers, hedgers, whipper snippers, chainsaws, etc.)
- Excellent time management — able to plan and complete jobs efficiently while maintaining quality
- Good judgment under pressure — able to pace a job, adjust workflow as needed, and communicate if schedules change
- Teamwork and leadership experience — able to support others on site while still performing hands-on work
- Strong customer service skills — friendly, polite, and confident when dealing with clients
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking, with the ability to “hustle” when the day is busy
- Physically fit and able to handle outdoor work year-round
- Current Australian driver’s license (own transport required)
- Full working rights in Australia
