**Where you'll be working**
Wollongong Hospital is the Illawarra and Shoalhaven’s major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed base of more than 500. The campus, which incorporates the Illawarra Regional Cancer Care Centre, provides a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient and community-based services.
Wollongong is located an hour’s drive south of Sydney on a narrow coastal strip bordered by the Royal National Park to the north, Lake Illawarra to the south, the Tasman Sea to the east and the Illawarra Escarpment to the west. **What you'll be doing**
- To provide safe and high quality clinical care, under supervision, to adult and paediatric Orthopaedic patients. The successful applicants will have a minimum of two years post graduate experience and a particular interest in Orthopaedic surgery. The Trainee will gain experience and teaching from five attending Orthopaedic surgeons and three SET trainees, and will become proficient in the management of emergency and non-emergency Orthopaedic presentations in one of the busiest Orthopaedic departments in NSW. Applicants will be exposed to a wide variety of elective adult orthopaedics and trauma. - MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- At least three years' post graduate experience in public hospital service (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated commitment to relevant training program and working towards completion of relevant College examinations
- Demonstrates ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills and judgement and expertise
- Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Sufficient skills knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent orthopaedic trainee
- Demonstrated commitment to participate in after hours, weekend and on-call rosters
- Moderate computer skills
