Duty Manager

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
- Responsibility to make wise decisions and take immediate action to restore order during a shift to ensure the smooth running of the venue
- Handle customer complaints and respond to booking issues on the night
- Responsibility to engage with customers and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Monitors and actively enforce hotel policy, guidelines, and procedures
- Monitor and actively enforce WH&Safety policy and procedures
- Monitor the intoxication levels of patrons and ensure responsible service of alcohol as per the liquor licensing act
- Monitor and ensure staff follow procedures as per RSA training for dealing with and refusing alcohol to intoxicated patrons
- To ensure compliance with hotel policy and procedure on the prevention of underage service of alcohol
- To liaise with Liquor Licensing, Police, Council, Fire Brigade, or Government Agencies during the shift
- Monitor compliance with till operations, cash handling, and money security procedures and take immediate steps to insure correct till procedures are upheld
- Monitor stock and stock levels. Ensure stock is properly stored, rotated, displayed, and accounted for through the correct handling of the stock control procedures whilst on shift.
- Responsibility for adherence to venue opening and closing procedures including safe/till/float balancing as required
- To monitor staff service standards and to actively direct staff to ensure the customer experience is not compromised
- Assigns tasks to employees on shift to uphold productivity and KPI's
- Responsible for the replacement of staff in event of staff no-show or sickness
- Effective people management including motivation and performance improvement
- Ensure substandard performance is reported to the relevant manager
- Ensure cleanliness of the work area during shift
- Completion of DM Report at end of each shift to ensure losses, employee behavioural issues, serious customer complaints, and other significant issues are effectively communicated to upper management.
- Responsibility to report all maintenance/repair issues
- Responsible for meeting targets during the shift and for helping assigned departments meet their goals
- Willing to undergo periodic training and development opportunities to stay abreast of the latest company policies and managerial strategies

Requirements
- Passion for hospitality and the overall customer experience
- Responsible Person Badge
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (SA)
- Experience supervising a small team and busy service periods
- Current First Aid Certificate
- TAB/Keno knowledge is preferable
