**Role Description/Criteria**
St Robert’s Catholic Primary School is a vibrant, faith-filled, and welcoming community committed to the safety, well-being and protection of all children in our care. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Principal who demonstrates strong communication skills and a calm, solutions-focused mindset in all aspects of their leadership, enabling them to guide staff and manage challenges constructively.
The Deputy Principal upholds the Child Safe Standards, supports the implementation of our school’s positive behaviour framework, and promotes restorative conversations. The successful applicant must be proactive and actively develop their own educational expertise in collaboration with colleagues. As a daily organiser, they ensure smooth school operations by coordinating replacements, planning for staff absences and school activities or events.
The Deputy Principal is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, Teaching and Learning Team and the Child Safety Team.
**The Successful Applicant Will**:
- Organise the day-to-day operation of the school and be proactive in forward planning to ensure you are assisting in creating a calm and well-organised school environment.
- Be a visible presence in classrooms, on the yard and in the community.
- Build teacher capacity through modelling, coaching, mentoring and the delivery of school-aligned Professional Learning.
- Learn alongside staff at Professional Learning and be committed to building your own knowledge to ensure continuous school improvement.
- Support classroom instruction and school performance, with a strong commitment to improving student outcomes and deepening collective staff knowledge.
- Be passionate about the Science of Learning and support our commitment to routines, high expectations, low variance and alignment with MACS Vision for Instruction and Engagement.
- Model calm, confident and relational leadership.
- Demonstrate evidence of leading and modelling instructional leadership through exemplary curriculum knowledge.
- Support teachers to monitor student progress, analyse data, and be active in facilitating planning and Tier Two intervention.
- Contribute to the development, review and contextualisation of MACS schools' policies and assist with ensuring school compliance.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant will need to regularly collaborate with a range of stakeholders.
- Show commitment to supporting inclusive education and the academic and social-emotional growth of all students at St Robert’s.
- Attend out-of-school hours official meetings and functions as required.
- Champion teachers as co-learners of language, modelling a commitment to ongoing professional growth in Italian, through the TCL Program.
- Act as Principal when required, exercising sound judgment, resilience, and a calm, solutions-focused approach in complex or challenging situations.

**Special Requirements**:
- Full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
- Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School, or be in the process of receiving accreditation.
- Committed to child safety, to maintaining best practices to ensure this, and to ongoing evaluation of these practices

- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to build authentic relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Have an in-depth knowledge of supportive, consistent, and respectful behaviour management practices that promote a positive learning environment and success for all students.
- Ability to work as part of an Executive Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning, policy development, and the building of a positive school culture.
- Demonstrated capacity to lead high-quality teaching and learning, using evidence-based practices to drive student outcomes and support teacher professional growth.
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and support staff as co-learners, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and collective efficacy.
