Full Time Restoration Technician
About the Business
South Queensland Restoration is a family-owned business, operating for over 10 years in the Brisbane region growing each year. We are now looking to recruit a Restoration Technician to join our dedicated team.
About the Role
The Position is full time with on-going works.
The position is available for an immediate start. Experience with power tools is preferred and back ground in restoration is preferred although we are willing to fully train the right person.
Must be hard working and willing to put in the extra mile during high demand periods such as storms or other situations that are required to fulfil our commitment to our contracted clients.
Restoration Services can include but are not limited to:
- Water extraction / steam cleaning - carpet, upholstery, rugs
- Contents packing / relocation
- Contents cleaning / restoration and repairs
- Structural drying / cleaning
- Building internal lining strip outs / demolition
- Pressure washing / Ice/Soda Blasting
- Onsite problem solving
- Comprehensive Reporting
- Positive, friendly, can do attitude
- Honest, reliable and hardworking - background checks will apply
- Hold a current, manual drivers’ licence
- Current Working with Children's Check and Police Check is a must
- Have the right to work in Australia
- Ability to display empathy and understanding towards customers
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- To speak and write fluent English
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Electronic Reporting Skills - i.e. use of iPad and electronic apps
- Be well presented for customer contact
- Availability to work via our on-call / after hours (including weekends) roster
- A construction white card
- A national police clearance (must be no older than 6 months)
- A current Working with Children check (WWC)
- Immunisations for Hepatitis A&B and Tetanus
Ideally you will also:
- Be physically fit and able to bend, lift, etc. This can be a physically demanding role
- Have excellent written and verbal skills, and be fluent in English
- Be able to follow both verbal and written instructions, and comply with strict OH&S guidelines
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to write job reports via our custom job management platform
- Be able to work as part of a team or autonomously, must be team oriented
- Be able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
- Have a positive, enthusiastic, ‘can do’ attitude
- Have a strong work ethic
- Be honest, reliable and punctual
- Always be professional, well-groomed and always presentable.
- Experience with managing small teams and job supervision will be advantageous
- Be competent in the use of technology (Computers, Tablets) and hand/power tools.
In-house, on-site and formal training provided to the successful applicant. During your work hours you will be provided access to a fully serviced vehicle to perform the required tasks.
Tasks required but not limited to are as follows:
- Multiple site attendances per day
- Lifting and moving of restoration equipment
- Cleaning of equipment, on site and during the restoration and remediation stages of the tasks
- Professional communication with clients, patience and remaining calm when dealing with clients
- Water damage works: extracting water, removing and lifting carpet for drying and disposal, installing drying equipment, moving contents big and small and other tasks as required
- Mould works: demo type work to remove plaster walls, ceiling, timber floating flooring, cutting and removal of sub flooring, sanding, cleaning and working with chemicals. Wearing full face, half face, disposable overalls and other PPE as required on various tasks.
- Carpet, hard surface and general cleaning tasks
- Fire and smoke works: Use of equipment, tools, detailed cleaning and moving of contents, packing and transporting. and other tasks related to tasks as required
- Other general duties and site evaluation etc

**Salary**: From $27.14 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekend availability
