**About the team**
Cancer Council NSW (CCNSW) and The University of Sydney (USYD), have formed a Joint Venture, The Daffodil Centre (DC). CCNSW is Australia's largest cancer research organisation with established links to policymakers and internationally recognised researchers. USYD is Australia's first university and its Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH) and Cancer Research Network include many of the world's leading researchers across all health disciplines.
The DC combines the complementary strengths if these two partners to concentrate cancer control research expertise, accelerating the partners' aims towards the realisation of a cancer free future.
**About the role**
The role of Centre Coordinator sits within the DC and will report into the Daffodil Centre Manager of Operations. This position is responsible for coordinating office operations, to ensure The Daffodil Centre's effectiveness, efficiency and safety. This position is responsible for providing high-level administrative support to senior staff and the Daffodil Centre Manager of Operations
**Key responsibilities of the role**:
- Act as the main contact within DC for all administrative matters, organise and coordinate office operations, to ensure divisional effectiveness, efficiency and safety including resource allocation for staff, overseeing IT equipment purchase and maintenance.
- Provide high-level administrative support to researchers in the execution of all legal matters including contracts and research agreements, in collaboration with the Daffodil Centre Manager of operations and CCNSW legal counsel.
- Coordinate Centre meetings including the monthly staff meeting, Centre orientations and Centre training sessions by drafting the agenda, booking meeting rooms and distributing correspondence.
- Assist with HR-related enquires for the Centre, and liaise with the DC Manager of operations and HR Business Partners as needed, i.e. keeping org charts up to date, staff lists etc.
- Oversee and implement the Centre filing system and record-keeping systems (online and hard copy) including managing the Centre SharePoint site.
- Maintain up to date procedural documents and identify gaps in The Daffodil Centre administration procedures including the drafting of procedures and policies with the DC Manager of Operations
- Assist with all requirements for all visitors to DC, including visiting academics.
- Assist DC staff and students with coordination of all requirements of HR relating to employment of new staff; managing the onboarding process of new staff/volunteers/students, by guiding hiring managers through the induction process and ensuring compliance with the organisational orientation checklist
- Coordinate the installation of software and hardware and liaise with IT for any CentreIT requirements.
- Oversee the allocation of tasks to admin volunteers and other support staff where necessary.
**About you**
High-level organisational skills with ability to multi task, along with:
Essential:
- Demonstrated ability at a high level to manage and coordinate office administration (2 years +)
- Well developed organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated understanding of all facets of office IT
- Proven well-developed communication skills including effective interpersonal and liaison skills
- Possess well-developed research and problem solving skills, together with the ability to exercise sound judgement
- Demonstrated ability to manage office equipment, mail, corporate stationary, software, and other resources
- Demonstrated experience in dealing appropriately with highly confidential and sensitive
