The Communications Specialist will provide fundamental support to the Communications Manager to assist in the delivery of Goodstart’s Content strategy, digital content, media and issues management and internal communications. They will develop the systems and processes that support audience engagement.
This position will support the Executive Committee, the Communications Manager and the Leadership Team and reach each stakeholder of the organisation in the way that best supports Goodstart’s strategic priorities and ensures brand integrity. The Communications Specialist will contribute to the establishment and maintenance of mechanisms capable of engaging stakeholders to assist Goodstart and the management of risk associated with stakeholder misalignment with Goodstart.
The Communications Specialist will be also be responsible for ongoing activities associated with improving the organisation’s brand and reputation as an industry leader in the early learning and care sector.
**Your Impact**:
Develop and implement a multi-channel audience engagement strategy identifying opportunities to build the organisation’s profile.
Develop and manage a media and issues management strategy and maintain internal networks.
Work with other relevant departments to coordinate the internal communications channels to service strategic communications and business needs.
Support the development of a fully integrated stakeholder engagement and communications plan, including staff, media government, sector and academic stakeholders.
Lead the development and maintenance of boundary scanning, issues monitoring and internal escalation processes to ensure communication preparedness and responsiveness.
Manage the development and implementation of reactive communication strategies, position or holding statements for all national issues.
Oversee the development and production of content and communication collateral that align to the organisation’s strategic directions and organisational objective.
Contribute to the development and implementation of a digital communications strategy to improve audience reach and engagement with the organisation’s strategic priorities.
Work with the Communications Manager to implement communications related policies and procedures to ensure all internal customers are aware of their individual roles and responsibilities.
Develop the tools and resources required to support relationship managers across the organisation to embed and deliver on their relationships.
Work with internal customers to provide communications advice and build their understanding and knowledge of communications principles.
Manage relationships and procurement processes with external agencies, consultants and suppliers.
Action changes required to workplace environment to ensure compliance to the companies health and safety requirements.
**You’ll bring to the table**:
Hold a formal tertiary qualification in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing-related discipline.
Have a minimum eight years’ work experience in a marketing or communications related environment.
Hands-on experience in a professional marketing, engagement or communications function, ideally within a large, multi-site, Australia-wide organisation.
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in implementing and administering organisational-wide stakeholder engagement and media strategies, action plans, policies and procedures.
