**Grade 3 Dietitian - Eating Disorders and Diabetes**

**THE ROLE**

In this unique Senior Dietitian role, you will lead nutrition service delivery for patients who have a complex eating disorder both in the Adult Inpatient Mental Health service and on the medical wards. You will also lead the nutrition services for patients who have diabetes and specifically support the care of patients who attend the Type 1 diabetes clinic on Tuesday mornings. You will be a valued member of Alfred Health’s Dietetic and Nutrition Department which has had a long and valued relationship within the Alfred, with the first dietitian being employed in 1930. The department has a proud history of clinical and academic excellence. It has a strong relationship with Monash and Latrobe University Nutrition Departments and is integral to clinical teaching and training of undergraduate dietitians. You will also work closely with Alfred Health’s Adult Mental Health program and Endocrinology services as part of the Medical Speciality program.

Clinical expertise in management of eating disorders and diabetes in both acute and ambulatory settings, strong leadership skills and a proven track record of co-ordination and implementation of quality initiatives in clinical nutrition are key aspects of this role. The position works with, and supports a multidisciplinary team including medical and/or psychiatry, nursing and dietetic colleagues in the complex management of patients across both speciality areas.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Possesses qualifications providing eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians’ Australia (DA) and participation in the APD program.
- 7 years clinical experience, with specialist experience in diabetes and eating disorders of at least 3 years.
- Meet requirements for clinical practice and training standards recommended for Dietitians providing treatment in the field of Eating Disorders (ANZEAD)
- Desirable to have experience in the nutritional management of insulin pumps.
- Higher qualification in or proceeding towards in Nutrition, Management, Public Health & Research. (Highly desirable)
