Youth Mentor

Are you passionate about empowering young people? We are looking for 2 x casual Youth Mentors to join our Intercept facility in Caboolture.

**About the role**:
The role of a Youth Mentor is to empower participants to increase their social skills, community connections, life skills and independence by providing one-on-one mentoring and support. This is a community access role.

**As a Youth Mentor you will**:

- Provide mentoring support and serve as a positive role model supporting young people to engage with the community
- Facilitate small groups to promote social connection & skill development
- Organise activities that assist young people achieve their identified goals.
- Provide flexible service provision that is client-centred using an outreach model

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in a human services field and/or experience working in a similar role with vulnerable youth and have;
- Maintain a current working with children check (blue card) and NDIS Clearance.
- A current Australian driver’s licence.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess the ability to work autonomously.

Based in Caboolture, our Youth Mental Health and Disabiity Support program (YHMADS) is designed to help young people 10-25 with NDIS plans to achieve their goals through mentoring and group programs.
