**Job description**:
Our client is currently recruiting for a Buyer to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, based in the Fort William area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Procurement manager and other stakeholders in relation to supplier issues, communications and concerns which may impact on the business operations.
- Executing end to end procurement processes including data collection, spend analysis, negotiation and contract award.
- Assist in the source of new vendors, resolves conflicts concerning materials or services at the department and vendor levels.
- Provide detailed analysis against cost savings and cost avoidance.
- Work closely with the Procurement manager to deliver Value added service to internal departments and stakeholders ensuring an ethical approach.
- Achieving and reporting on savings and efficiencies achieved with costs including spend and scrappage.
- Communicating across functions and departments on procurement related issues and processes including expediting and schedule of delivery.
- Monitoring and managing performance of suppliers against contract performance indicators.
- Oversee expediting and monitoring of supplier
- Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of self, staff and visitors
Skills & Experience
- 3 or more years in a similar role
- CIPS would be highly advantageous
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
