Wollongong Hospital is the largest of Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District’s eight hospitals, treating more than 48,000 patients annually. It is the region’s tertiary referral hospital servicing a population of more than 400,000 people. The Wollongong Hospital is a 500+ bed centre which provides both general and specialty medical and surgical services including adult intensive care and coronary care units.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia
- Minimum four years post graduate experience with at least one year's experience in Plastic Surgery
- Sufficient skills, knowledge and experience to practice as a safe and competent plastic surgery CMO.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
- Demonstrated ability to to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and staff.
- Demonstrated experience in, and commitment to, research relevant to the role and the needs of the department.
