**About the role**

As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for the procurement of good and services that are required for the manufacture and installation of transportable buildings.

The procurement officer will also be responsible for undertaking other purchasing, estimating, sourcing activities as required by the business. Maintain supplier/ contractor relationships, price files and procurement / estimating database

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Procurement of goods and services
- Resolve supply and product issues including invoice errors and credits
- Complete quantity take-offs
- Understand specification documents and ensure procurement compliance to the spec.
- Create purchase orders for goods and services in line with procurement schedule and project specifications
- Provide support to procurement staff, promoting development & teamwork within the department
- Monitor the procurement schedule and flag potential issues for review
- Process requisitions and variations
- Identify cost saving initiatives/procurement improvement opportunities and refer to management for review.
- Record and document purchasing related information for projects and notify relevant stakeholders on any changes or delays
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure DIFOT measures are achieved
- Interfacing with various departments to resolve issues and complete procurement objectives.
- Resolve, supply, and product issues including invoice errors, credits, short supply, product damage etc
- Undertake budget review, update Microsoft Navision (ERP) database as required
- Prepare RFQ, facilitate negotiations with suppliers, evaluate & recommend for award
- Assist Estimating with pricing requirements
- General day to day planning and decision making

**The successful applicant will demonstrate**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role preferably within the construction industry
- Sound understanding of the building industry
- Advanced negotiation skills
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to work autonomously
- Experience with Microsoft Navision (ERP)
- Not essential
- Trade background
- Desirable
- Organized, reliable and highly motivated
- Excellent numeracy and communication (written and verbal)
