**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting to the Liability & Compliance Manager
- Technical advice and Decision sign off in line with the WIRC Act and WorkSafe Victoria guidelines.
- Represent Coles Team Cover (CTC) at the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service.
- Manage a small portfolio of Impairment benefit claims
- Maintaining knowledge of workers compensation legislation, regulatory framework, issue resolution processes, court cases and ensuring all actions remain
- Assisting in determining lability on complex claims both initial and ongoing
- Representing Coles at mediation and conciliation to ensure pragmatic outcomes considering Team Member impact, commercial result, and reputation protection
- Conducting internal claim reviews with the claims team to increase their capability in making liability decisions and resolving disputes.

**Requirements**:

- Significant experience in managing claims in a workers compensation is essential, specifically in delivering strong outcomes with difficult claims.
- Prior exposure in other areas of workers compensation such as in regulatory and compliance would be highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of customer service and experience interfacing into customers in difficult situations.

**Formal Education**:

- A qualification or certification in a health or

business-related field (highly desirable)

**Technical Competencies**:

- Thorough understanding of workers

compensation claim management
- Technical and legislative knowledge
- Determination of liability through sound decision

making

**Commercial Skills**:

- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills

to achieve optimal outcomes
- Excellent written and verbal communication

skills

**Technology Competency and Familiarity**:

- Microsoft Office suite of products
- Electronic Information Management systems
- Claims Management Information systems
