Sydney, Australia Delta Electricity Full time

As a Spot Trader, you’ll play a critical role in optimising Delta’s market earnings, executing spot trading strategies, and ensuring compliance in the ever-changing energy landscape. You’ll be the key interface between Delta’s operations and market operators, making real-time decisions that drive results.

Please note that this role operates on a rotating roster, including morning, day, and evening shifts.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Execute dynamic bidding strategies and adjust them in real-time based on market conditions.
- Trade power across all NEM states.
- Work closely with asset operations to optimise plant and market risk.
- Liaise with AEMO and ensure seamless market operations.
- Monitor market trends and competitor behaviour to stay ahead of the curve.
- Perform on-call duties outside standard hours, handling real-time trading activities.

**Who We Are Looking For**
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in the National Electricity Market (NEM) or a competitive financial/trading environment.
- Sharp analytical skills - ability to interpret complex data and make quick, informed decisions.
- Strong market knowledge and an understanding of risk management principles.
- Resilience under pressure - thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Excellent communication & teamwork skills to collaborate effectively.
