As part of our commitment to excellence, we require an experienced Dental Technician to assist in the fabrication, customization, and procurement of dental prosthetics and materials in collaboration with external dental laboratories and suppliers. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive high-quality restorations that fit comfortably and function optimally.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

1. Prosthetic & Laboratory Case Management
- Liaise with external stakeholder to oversee the fabrication and accurate delivery of dental prosthetics.
- Review patient impressions, digital scans, and case designs to ensure accurate prescriptions.
- Conduct in-chair adjustments and modifications of dental appliances to ensure proper fit and function.
- Assist in digital impression-taking and CAD/CAM workflows for crown and bridge fabrication.
- Conduct shade matching and aesthetic consultations with patients for restorations such as veneers and crowns.
- Maintain detailed records of all lab cases, ensuring accuracy in prescriptions, timelines, and quality control.

2. Procurement & Inventory Management
- Source and procure dental prosthetics, restorative materials, and lab-fabricated appliances.
- Manage inventory levels of prosthetic materials, impression supplies, and lab-related consumables.
- Work closely with dentists to ensure the best selection of materials for patient care.
- Keep up to date with new dental technologies, materials, and laboratory trends to optimise procurement decisions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory guidelines.

3. Fabrication of Dental Appliances
- Crafting braces, mouthguards and plates for correcting irregular or damaged teeth
- Polishing and finishing braces or retainers before they are placed in a patient's mouth
- Constructing and repairing ceramic restorations such as crowns, bridges or dentures
- providing educational programs to motivate children, parents and the community in matters relating to oral health
- removing deposits from teeth
- taking impressions of the mouth
- taking dental radiographs
- administering local anaesthesia by infiltration and mandibular nerve block
- fabricating full and partial dentures
- constructing mouth guards, crowns, metal clasps, inlays, bridgework and other aids
- repairing and relining denture bases

Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Demonstrated Dental Technician experience for a minimum of 1 year
- A related dental qualification
- Experience with digital dentistry workflows, including intraoral scanning and CAD/CAM technology.
- Knowledge of implant-supported prosthetics, removable dentures, and orthodontic appliances.
- Ability to troubleshoot fit issues and make chairside modifications when necessary.
- Strong organisational and negotiation skills for supplier and lab coordination.
