**Position Information**:
Eastern Creek Public School is situated within the Eastern Creek network of schools in Western Sydney. The school has a current enrolment of 318 students, including 40 preschool students. Sixty-five percent of students are from backgrounds where English is an Additional Language or Dialect, with a further 9% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. School priorities include literacy, numeracy, and student wellbeing. Strongly embedded wellbeing programs, including Positive Behaviour for Learning, Rock & Water and our Liven Deadly program ensure an inclusive and harmonious learning environment is available for all and an integral part of our STAR (Safety, Teamwork, Aim High and Respect) values.
**Selection Criteria**:
- In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary and demonstrate the capacity to work as part of an executive team and balance exemplary classroom practice and management skills with the complexities of the Assistant Principal role
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build teacher capacity in the implementation of high-quality literacy and numeracy programs, using evidence-based assessment and effective data analysis to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective, empathetic relationships with students, parents/carers, staff and the wider community
- Capacity to lead and manage effective whole school student wellbeing programs and practices P-6
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
