Head of Design- Trenery

The Role
Reporting to the General Manager of Trenery, own the creative direction, design, development and execution of the brand’s collections with a focus on Womenswear.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design team to deliver customer focused, modern, inspirational and well balanced ranges, ensuring they are in keeping with brand strategy and adhere to option plan, pricing and margin targets.
- Develop seasonal and monthly strategic design briefs, including colour, print and fabric direction, which align to the Trenery customer profile and deliver to brand strategic objectives, ensuring they are versatile and cover breadth of lifestyle.
- Lead and inspire team of 10 with 4 direct reports
- With support from the Production Manager and QA team, ensure that quality and fit standards are understood and delivered to.
- Liaise and build relationships with suppliers and overseas agents.
- Prior experience in a design leadership role with knowledge across women’s apparel product design & development as a minimum.
- Experience in building ranges taking in to account core, seasonal and aspirational elements
- Experience sourcing and working with overseas vendors; in particular with China and India
- Strong fabric and technical knowledge
- Excellent leadership qualities with proven experience of leading and coaching a team of designers
