**Eligibility**

**Division Responsibilities**
The Cancer, Hearing and Program Support Division is responsible for:
- administering the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (program) and
providing policy advice on hearing health.
- being the central coordination point for cancer matters in the department and
managing cancer screening programs and services including producing evidence
- based policy, and delivering best practice cancer care initiatives; and
- the management of the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) through our
service provider including the transition of the National Bowel Cancer Screening
Register.
**Branch Responsibilities**
The Hearing Services Branch supports eligible Australians with hearing loss to remain
independent and participate in their communities. The key role of the branch is to
administer the program. The branch also has a role in developing and providing advice on
hearing health and is currently supporting an external policy review of the program as well
as the implementation of the Hearing Services roadmap.
**Section Responsibilities**
The Voucher Operations Section is responsible for:
- Managing hearing service provider accreditation and ongoing contractual
arrangements.
- Resolving hearing service provider complaints.
- Providing advice to hearing service providers on the hearing service provider
compliance support framework.
- Providing clinical audiological advice across the branch and to external stakeholders.
- Under a Deed of Standing Offer for the supply of Assistive Hearing Technology (AHT):
- Managing manufacturer registration, conducting audits of listed AHT, approving
alternative AHT in exceptional circumstances and managing relationships with
AHT suppliers.
- Managing relationships with:
- Practitioner Professional Bodies and overseeing qualified hearing practitioner
management; and
- The Department of Veterans’ Affairs through the joint Statement of Intent.
- Responding to a high volume of client enquiries through the contact centre and
resolving client complaints.
- Administering the Hearing Services online portal and website.***
**Key Responsibilities**
- Processing provider accreditations and routine service provider contract
management.
- Responding to program related enquiries from contracted service providers and
device manufacturers.
- Administration & Liaison with Professional Practitioner Bodies regarding Hearing
Services Program news article submissions.
- Negotiating and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive
outcomes.
- Monitoring program outcomes and supporting cross program activities.
- Manage & maintain drop box access for Hearing Service Providers & Device suppliers
- Assist in reviewing and ongoing maintenance of communication materials, including

- Strong written and verbal communication skills including engagement with internal
and external stakeholders
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work and competing tasks
- Work under general supervision and direction, exercising some autonomy regarding
how work tasks are performed

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks within tight timeframes to deliver
results.
- Ability to promote and manage productive working relationships with internal and
external stakeholders, including liaison and negotiation.***
**Desirable Experience**
- Previous experience working within a legislative and program management
framework.
- Previous experience using Trim.
- Knowledge of the disability industry would be highly regarded.
