**Position overview**
ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine comprises the School of Medicine and Psychology, the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health. These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.
The School of Medicine and Psychology is looking for a Research Officer to be involved with clinical trials, conducted in partnership with our partner organisation, the Monarch Mental Health Group (MMHG)/Monarch Institute in Melbourne. They will have a role in helping coordinate a site for a national multisite clinical trial of pharmacogenomic-guided therapy versus standard care for people with depression. The Research Officer will additionally involve work on clinical trials involving the use of novel brain stimulation techniques in the treatment of mental illness and also potentially involving other novel treatments such as ketamine or psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. Across these trials, the Research Officer will be assisting in the coordination of the clinical research trials and the conduct of trial related assessments and procedures.
