About Us
Western Private Hospital, located in Footscray, is a boutique private hospital servicing the West of Melbourne with the provision of acute services, which has 62 inpatient beds.
We are fully equipped for a comprehensive range of surgical procedures including general, bariatric, oral max, colorectal, endoscopy, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic, gynaecology, IVF, plastics, vascular and urology, as well as diagnostic and interventional cardiology and high dependency services.
WPH’s facilities include four Operating Theatres, CSSD, Day Procedure Unit, Day Oncology Unit, Overnight Ward for CCU, HDU & Surgical patients, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory, Specialist Consulting Suites, Nuclear Medicine/PET Centre and supported by pathology, pharmacy, radiology and radiation therapy services.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Storeperson to join the team at Western Private Hospital on a permanent part-time basis working a minimum of 3 days and up to 5 days a week, across Monday to Friday.
Your responsibilities will include conducting regular stock counts and reordering supplies to maintain optimal levels, ensuring uninterrupted patient care. This position is responsible for effectively managing the hospital imprest system which includes goods ordering, receipt and delivery of stock to the wards and other areas of the hospital. The position also includes handling all supply & imprest queries as well as general duties in our internal warehouse area. Daily communication with team members and hospital staff will be crucial to address any stock-related issues that may impact patient care.
Selection Criteria
Previous experience in a warehouse / stores / distribution environment with knowledge of stock control and stores operations
Experience in computerised inventory management and supply chain systems, including scanning and excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Good time management and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads and be able to work autonomously when required with a commitment to getting the job done efficiently
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with previous customer service experience
Physical capability to regularly handle manual tasks and lift items in order to pick, pack & deliver orders as per imprest scanning replenishment
Healthcare background with experience with medical consumables and handling of sterile stock in accordance with Australian Standards (AS5369) and Infection Control guidelines will be highly regarded
Certificate II or III in Warehouse & Logistics Management (or equivalent) would be desirable

Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 6 months and evidence of Australian Residency / Full Working Rights (No Sponsorship available)
