**Position Information**:
Galungara Public School opened at the beginning of 2021 and aspires to be outstanding through the purposeful creation of innovative learning environments that promote the development of creative and critical thinkers capable of deep inquiry. This encompasses the utilisation of technology-based platforms to engage in teaching and learning and a commitment to collaborative teaching in flexible learning spaces. With a current enrolment of 785 students K-6, including those from non-English speaking backgrounds (87%) and students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (1.4%) including three classes that cater for students with disabilities, Galungara Public School prides itself on its inclusive environment. As a school community, we have identified three strategic visions for the future in which we prioritise;
- ensuring our students acquire the necessary skills in literacy and numeracy
- enacting an agile learning culture that encapsulates the whole child and;
- cultivating student agency so that students have voice and choice in their learning.
**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach English as a Second Language (primary) or currently completing or enrolled in an approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a Second Language (primary), as recognised by the NSW Department of Education.
Demonstrated ability to collaboratively develop, implement and evaluate differentiated teaching and learning programs to support English language learning and literacy development of EAL/D students across all curriculum areas.
Capacity to inspire and engage students in their learning and a willingness to implement public speaking programs.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with an understanding of the needs of students and parents from non-English speaking backgrounds, and demonstrated ability to support these students in their learning.

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the approved post graduate qualification for teaching English as a Second Language (primary) as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 12 months.
