**About the role

The Metro North Health Human Research Ethics Committee (MNH HREC) Deputy Chair is accountable for overseeing the functions of the MNH HREC Low Risk review process in accordance with the:
National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2023) (National Statement)
The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research 2018 (the Code)
Ethical conduct in research with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and communities: Guidelines for researchers and stakeholders 2018
Queensland Health Research Management Policy and Framework (QHRMP; 2015)
Metro North Research Policy
Queensland Human Rights Act (2019) and
other relevant legislation and guidelines as applicable.

About you

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Chair the MN HREC Low Risk review process, providing expert review of lower risk research and ensuring reviewers are familiar with the National Statement and have an understanding of:
the ethical issues that can arise in the research under review;
issues associated with the collection, use and management of data and information in research;
Maintain expert knowledge of the National Statement and other state, national and international policies, guidelines and legislation as they relate to research, including International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and the Code.
