Sheq Advisor

**About the role**:
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a SHEQ Advisor to join our team. Reporting into the SHEQ Manager and working closely with the operations team you will be working across Sydney on Ventia’s Land and Housing Contract.

As a SHEQ Advisor, your primary responsibility is to deliver on organisational construction SHEQ requirements for Ventia and its contractors, utilising systems and process to foster an integrated approach to SHEQ management in delivering on legal, contractual and business requirements.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Inform and implement Safety Management Plans across the project
- Undertake investigations in relation to safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations
- Implementing processes to ensure communication and compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures including fostering a culture of ‘safety and health above all else’
- Conduct site safety inspections and undertake Ventia “Critical Control Checks” on contractor works and management systems.
- Develop and deliver safety related training when required including new starter induction, toolbox talks and prestart meetings

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in OHS or equivalent
- Formal training in incident investigation (ICAM preferred)
- Experience with construction sites
- Sound knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements, and ISO standards
- Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement
- Excellent communication & written skills
