The RACV Centre includes the RACV City Club and Hotel, providing premium services and facilities to Club members including 136 accommodation rooms, fitness centre, swimming pool, function areas, restaurants, kitchens, billiards, and wine bar. The RACV Corporate Offices comprise of RACV and tenanted floors across multiple levels of two high-rise office buildings on Bourke Street.

Both proactive and reactive maintenance and repair of these areas is an ongoing requirement to ensure the assets are always looking and performing at their best.

We’re looking for a maintenance technician who’s ready to play an active role in maintaining reliable and effective buildings as well as plant and equipment in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner within the RACV property portfolio.

**About the Opportunity**

As Building Maintenance Technician, reporting to the Building Maintenance Team Leader - City Club, you will join a team with specific skills, and take on a range of responsibilities for the efficient operation, repairs, maintenance and installation of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, fire systems, kitchen equipment, audio and visual, laundry, internal and external lighting, other plant and equipment and contractor management in RACV City buildings and other locations as may be required.

You’ll have strong, proven repair and maintenance skills with the willingness and ability to address a full range of building maintenance and building compliance requirements.

You will have experience in a customer facing environment, being able to effectively interact and communicate with our team, member, and guests as part of your daily activities.

You have the ability to provide contractor management to third party contractors carrying out works on site (JSA/SWMS/Permits etc).

**Key responsibilities of this role include**:

- To undertake repairs and maintenance commensurate with qualifications and experience in a safe, timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Meet and Greet contractors arriving on site, manage and ensure working safely. Conduct spot safety audit and record.
- To coordinate day to day maintenance works and resources in the most efficient and effective manner to meet daily maintenance plans and customer requirements.
- To supervise external contractors and ensure RACV risk assessment, OHS and contractor management requirements are met to ensure works are undertaken in a safe and planned manner, and a high standard of repairs and maintenance are carried out.
- Provide input into maintenance planning activities to ensure safe and efficient management of tasks.
- Undertake predictive and preventative maintenance tasks to improve equipment reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of breakdowns.
- Identify opportunities to make plant and process improvements to reduce costs and improve customer service.
- Monitor BMS system, rectify alarms and ensure building systems are operating efficiently and cost effectively.

**Roster details**
- Work a rotating shift roster of day (0700 to 1500) and afternoon shifts (1200 to 2000) over 7 days/week, with occasional night shifts or call outs to meet business needs.
- Work 1 weekend in 4 with following Monday and Tuesday off to compensate.
- Work 4 Public Holidays a year - in addition to your normal salary payment, you are also eligible to receive time off in lieu for the hours worked on a public holiday to compensate

**What you’ll need to be successful**
- Trade Qualification Preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in all facets of General Maintenance on commercial buildings
- Good people skills and Resourceful
- Root cause analysis and improvement identification
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and maintenance planning software
- OHS knowledge and experience with contractor management
- Previous experience in an Integrated Resort Development / International Hotel Environment including general handyman duties
- Contractor management experience, including issuing and reviewing JSA/SWMS/General and High-Risk Permits
- OHS and safe work practices
