**About the Role**

CareSouth are currently seeking **Casual Supervised Contact Workers** to join the **CareSouth Wagga Wagga team.**

**Are you a person with mature life experience? Do you have a background working with children and young people? Perhaps you’re a retired education worker or child protection/welfare sector professional, or even a person with foster care experience? This position would be ideal for a person who has experience working with children and is looking to step into a casual role to suit a more flexible lifestyle.**

Reporting to the Team Leader, the Supervised Contact Worker position is responsible for providing high quality supervision for visits between children and/or young persons in care and their families. This position must ensure that the child’s best interests are protected during contact. The aim is to facilitate a safe and constructive contact visit comprising of positive interactions between the parent/participant and child/children in order to build their relationship.

**We are looking for individuals who fulfil the following criteria**:

- Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
- Tertiary qualification or working towards in a relevant discipline e.g. social welfare, psychology, education counselling etc.
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Excellent observational and report writing skills.
- Understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Sound knowledge of child development
- Ability to remain impartial at all times.
- Ability to risk assess varying situations.
- Current drivers licence, comprehensively insured vehicle, mobile phone and access to a computer.
