The Opportunity
Underpinned by strong growth and recent major project wins, Mott MacDonald is looking for a Major Projects Lead to lead sustainability and deliver best-practice outcomes on multi-billion dollar projects. You will combine technical and commercial expertise with a passionate and persistent drive for better outcomes. You will also thrive on project team and industry collaboration in our shared quest to solve the big sustainability challenges.
The newly created position is based in Sydney and will form a critical part of leadership teams on major projects and in the Mott MacDonald Environment, Climate and Sustainability sector leadership team in NSW and nationally. This role offers significant opportunities for career development and the chance to play a pivotal role on challenging and rewarding projects.

- Leading the successful development, integration and delivery of sustainability strategy, assessments and initiatives.
- Leading sustainability projects and/or work packages on major projects to deliver strong commercial outcomes for the business whilst achieving outstanding outcomes for our clients.
- Driving high-performance through collaboration, positive leadership, and interface with clients and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying and harnessing the necessary internal and external expertise to deliver best-practice sustainable outcomes.
- Advising clients of leading-edge sustainability aspirations, concepts and services.
- Developing and managing budgets, program, delivery and resourcing.
- Ensuring the delivery of technically excellent outcomes for our clients.
- Supporting business development activities including leveraging existing client relationships, building new relationships, and assisting in the development of bid proposals.
- Experience in managing and co-ordinating sustainability teams and tasks on complex projects as part of multi discipline teams to meet objectives, timeframes and budgets.
- Strong project and commercial management skills including in budgeting, resourcing, and task, scope and programme development.A minimum ten years relevant industry experience in a consulting, construction, private industry or a government environment.
- Superior negotiation and communication skills with varied internal and external stakeholders
- Relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related discipline.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with a client and team focus.
- Ability to develop and deliver technical sustainability advice for internal and external clients.
